I went to church yesterday for the first time in a good two months, and when I got there I was surprised to find that our pastor wasn’t preaching for the day. He was gone to Texas to see the Redskins play the Cowboys. Any who we had another minister from our church speaking and I absolutely loved his message and the metaphor he used.
He basically said that whenever you’re going through a situation you have to know that you were destined for whatever it may be. Everything that happens to us was already planned so that we can help others not make the same mistakes we did and become better. But the best part about the message was when he asked how we handle our problems.
First of all if you’re an egg then you crack easily under pressure, which is the weakest of them all. Then there’s the apple which bruises when it’s been knocked around a few times. Lastly the bouncing ball bounces back every time someone throws it around, and the harder it’s tossed the higher it bounces back.
I couldn’t help but think of how much that relates to everyday life. I always want to be that bouncing ball that reaches higher levels whenever I’m facing adversaries. I don’t want to be the one who allows others or any of my situations to bruise me nor crack me. So are you an egg, an apple, or bouncing ball?
